Direct sound and reconnect prompt
What’s new in this update
New features
- Remote control and Remote camera now send sound together with the video directly between devices, so it plays sooner and in sync.
- If the connection drops briefly you see Reconnecting, and if it takes a while you can switch the connection method or keep retrying.
- Add your own relay server (TURN) in Settings > Network to stay connected on networks that block direct connections.
- Added Send usage statistics to Settings. It sends feature usage only, never your email or account details, and you can turn it off at any time.
Improvements
- Remote camera video and sound keep going while the Mac is locked.
- Devices now connect directly over VPN addresses such as Tailscale.
- Rotating the phone that shares its camera no longer shrinks the Remote camera window or leaves empty bars.
- macOS permission prompts are now shown in 10 languages.
Bug fixes
- Fixed recordings losing sound, or not stopping, when the sound route changed during recording.
- Fixed a black screen that stayed when viewing a Windows computer whose screen wasn't changing.
