Frequently Asked Questions

Is Any Display free?

Yes. All features are available for free. The free version includes ads. Purchase Pro ($12.99, one-time) to permanently remove ads. No subscription.

What devices are supported?

Server: macOS 10.15–26 (Catalina–Tahoe), Windows 10/11 (64-bit). Client: iOS (iOS/iPadOS 16–26), Android tablets (Android 9–16).

How does the connection work?

On the same Wi-Fi network, the app automatically discovers the server. You can also connect directly via USB cable for even lower latency. No additional hardware needed.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. It operates on the local network (LAN), so it works without internet. Connect to the same Wi-Fi, or use a USB cable — USB works without any network at all.

What's the latency like?

Wi-Fi: sub-16ms latency on LAN. USB: sub-5ms latency. We recommend using a 5GHz Wi-Fi band for best wireless performance. USB provides the most stable and lowest latency experience.

Is touch input supported?

Yes. Touch input from the tablet is sent to the server PC. Click, drag, and scroll are all supported.

What's the difference between Extend and Mirror mode?

Extend mode uses the tablet as an additional display to expand your workspace. Mirror mode shows the same screen as your main display on the tablet.

What resolution is supported?

Up to 4K resolution, automatically adjusted to match your tablet's actual resolution. HiDPI (2x) scaling is also supported.

How is it different from other screen extension apps?

Most competing apps require a $4–6/month subscription or a $130+ hardware dongle. Any Display offers all features for free, requires no extra hardware, and has no subscription.

Can I connect multiple tablets at once?

Currently, one tablet connection is supported. Multi-device connections will be supported in a future update.

Can I connect via USB?

Yes. Connect your tablet with a USB cable for even lower latency (<5ms). Both Wi-Fi and USB connections are supported.

Do I need anything special for iOS USB on Windows?

Yes. To connect an iPad via USB on Windows, you need to install the Apple Devices app from the Microsoft Store. macOS does not require any additional setup.
